Meaning

The Incomparable Originator, who created the heavens and earth without a model.

In the Quran

  1. 117بَدِيعُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَإِذَا قَضَىٰۤ أَمۡرࣰا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

    Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.

Surah Al-Baqara · 2:117

Allah says: “And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them” (Quran 7:180).

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred less one; whoever enumerates them will enter Paradise” (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim). This does not mean His names are limited to ninety-nine.
