Al-Latif — Meaning of Allah's Name

Meaning

The Subtle, who knows the finest details and is kind to His servants.

In the Quran

  1. 103لَّا تُدۡرِكُهُ ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرُ وَهُوَ يُدۡرِكُ ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرَۖ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلۡخَبِيرُ

    Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision; and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted.

Surah Al-An'aam · 6:103

Allah says: “And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them” (Quran 7:180).

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred less one; whoever enumerates them will enter Paradise” (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim). This does not mean His names are limited to ninety-nine.
