Meaning
The All-Powerful, whose power is complete over all things.
In the Quran
- 42كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذۡنَـٰهُمۡ أَخۡذَ عَزِيزࣲ مُّقۡتَدِرٍ
They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability.
Allah says: “And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them” (Quran 7:180).
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred less one; whoever enumerates them will enter Paradise” (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim). This does not mean His names are limited to ninety-nine.
