Meaning
The Inheritor, to whom everything returns when creation ends.
In the Quran
- 23وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ نُحۡیِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثُونَ
And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor.
Allah says: “And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them” (Quran 7:180).
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred less one; whoever enumerates them will enter Paradise” (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim). This does not mean His names are limited to ninety-nine.
