Surah Al-Maa'un — الماعون

Surah Al-Maa'un (“Almsgiving”) is chapter 107 of the Quran. It is a Meccan surah of 7 verses that begins in Juz 30 on page 602 of the Madinah Mushaf. Below is the full Arabic text with the Saheeh International English translation.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

  1. 1أَرَءَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِی يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ

    Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?

  2. 2فَذَ ٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِی يَدُعُّ ٱلۡيَتِيمَ

    For that is the one who drives away the orphan

  3. 3وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ

    And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

  4. 4فَوَيۡلࣱ لِّلۡمُصَلِّينَ

    So woe to those who pray

  5. 5ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ عَن صَلَاتِهِمۡ سَاهُونَ

    [But] who are heedless of their prayer -

  6. 6ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ يُرَاۤءُونَ

    Those who make show [of their deeds]

  7. 7وَيَمۡنَعُونَ ٱلۡمَاعُونَ

    And withhold [simple] assistance.
