Meaning
The Preserver, who protects all things and keeps them from perishing.
In the Quran
- 57فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَقَدۡ أَبۡلَغۡتُكُم مَّاۤ أُرۡسِلۡتُ بِهِۦۤ إِلَيۡكُمۡۚ وَيَسۡتَخۡلِفُ رَبِّی قَوۡمًا غَيۡرَكُمۡ وَلَا تَضُرُّونَهُۥ شَيۡـًٔاۚ إِنَّ رَبِّی عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءٍ حَفِيظࣱ
But if they turn away, [say], "I have already conveyed that with which I was sent to you. My Lord will give succession to a people other than you, and you will not harm Him at all. Indeed my Lord is, over all things, Guardian."
Allah says: “And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them” (Quran 7:180).
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred less one; whoever enumerates them will enter Paradise” (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim). This does not mean His names are limited to ninety-nine.
