Surah Al-Fil — الفيل

Surah Al-Fil (“The Elephant”) is chapter 105 of the Quran. It is a Meccan surah of 5 verses that begins in Juz 30 on page 601 of the Madinah Mushaf. Below is the full Arabic text with the Saheeh International English translation.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

  1. 1أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلۡفِيلِ

    Have you not considered, [O Muhammad], how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant?

  2. 2أَلَمۡ يَجۡعَلۡ كَيۡدَهُمۡ فِی تَضۡلِيلࣲ

    Did He not make their plan into misguidance?

  3. 3وَأَرۡسَلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ طَيۡرًا أَبَابِيلَ

    And He sent against them birds in flocks,

  4. 4تَرۡمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةࣲ مِّن سِجِّيلࣲ

    Striking them with stones of hard clay,

  5. 5فَجَعَلَهُمۡ كَعَصۡفࣲ مَّأۡكُولِۭ

    And He made them like eaten straw.
