Surah Al-Masad — المسد

Surah Al-Masad (“The Palm Fibre”) is chapter 111 of the Quran. It is a Meccan surah of 5 verses that begins in Juz 30 on page 603 of the Madinah Mushaf. Below is the full Arabic text with the Saheeh International English translation.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

  1. 1تَبَّتۡ يَدَاۤ أَبِی لَهَبࣲ وَتَبَّ

    May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he.

  2. 2مَاۤ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ

    His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained.

  3. 3سَيَصۡلَىٰ نَارࣰا ذَاتَ لَهَبࣲ

    He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame

  4. 4وَٱمۡرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلۡحَطَبِ

    And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood.

  5. 5فِی جِيدِهَا حَبۡلࣱ مِّن مَّسَدِۭ

    Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber.
